    Talking Pics of the GBR

I've finally returned from a magical 2 weeks at the Great Barrier Reef, and I took some underwater photos one day while snorkeling (forgot the camera while diving....DO'H)
I thought I'd put some of them up in the My Photo Gallery section, there's also a photo of the idyllic beaches at Cairns.
The pics were taken with a disposable camera.
It was so amazing that I'm going to do a professional diving course, just to keep my hobby on the cheap side. Heh Heh....
If anyone wants a bigger pic let me know.

If there's one thing in the world I suggest everyone try and do it's go diving at the GBR.
Words could not explain the majesty and awe inspiring sights.
I think I'm jealous of my myself.
The clams there were all around a similar size, It's great to see how things look in real life as it gives you a better idea of how they should look.......There was also this enormous magnifica that was hosting 2 different species of clown pairs, and 1 unidentified fish......

Wow. Nice pictures. Hopefully, next time, someone can help take a picture of you beside the clam to get some perspective of the size of the clam compared to a human.

I have that on DVD...They film you diving and you can buy it for an expense.
Nothing in the GBR is small, it makes all the corals we have look like frags.

    Hi,

Great pictures. I assume you chartered out of Cairns or Port Douglas?

I love how when you see crocea's over there they are so buried into the rock the mantle looks almost like a sea slug (until they pull in that is.)

Man I'd love to go back there some day. Alas ....

Cuba would be fantastic. A totally cultural experience.
I have to look up Belize...Where is it?
I'm going to the GBR again next year, and delphinus you are correct from Port Douglas, it's the best place to dive from and I'm pretty sure that all charters leave from there too. Did you stay at the Sheraton Mirage?? When were you there?
I'm impressed with your knowledge of Terra Australis..But, I am pushing for the Red-Sea instead, and hopefully I'll be a fully qualified diver by then.. that should be amazing and cost about the same.
I was surprised that out of 400 passengers only 12 went diving
