    Something''s eating my coraline???

    Hello all!

I have about 2 lefthanded hermits and 8 bluelegged hermits.

When I woke up this morning I noticed that two pieces of coraline are missing........what could be happening?

is the tank or rock new? you could be getting some die off.

I second the dieoff. sometimes new rock or changed lights could effect the corraline. Also, possible water parms, like ph and alk.

No new rocks have been added.
But I can see clearly the cut in the spot of coraline.

hmmm... worms ? wow.. try to spot them in the dark.. wait 3 hours after lights are off and use a flashlight on them.

IJO told me to do this a while back.. I found a bunch of critters I did'nt even know existed.

maybe you have a sneaky urchin hiding in the rocks. I've also heard that hermits do scrape at the coraline when algae is scarce. Coraline algae does flake off every now and then...
Maybe check your alkalinity too, if it is too low, coraline will begin to die off.
    Matt.

Old system torn down to make a playroom.. planning a 62x42x28 high
