ID things on LR
i know in cases like this a picture would be worth a new digital camera, but i dont have one on hand right now.
I am noticing, (now that my algae is finally dieing off) on my LR among other cool stuff, two different things and wanted to know if anyone can figure out (from my description) what they are and if they are good or bad.
1) What looks like small tiny bulbs (about the size of a rice grain) with one single polyp coming out of it - color is white.
2) On some parts of my rockwork, i notice areas with what looks like short white hair (almost like an old man that didnt shave in a few days).
any clue what these are? if you show me a picture, i can tell you for sure if that is what i have.

The old man's hair is a type of sponge believe it or not. Yeah..., I know, you're gonna say it looks nothing like a sponge. But trust me on this, they are very common and you'l always have them here and there.
The other things are little tunicates. they will stay small and get hairy looking. Some people say they look football shaped. They are usually one of the 1st types that show up and usually grow in areas that have low current. Some people ( myself included) say they are usually indications that you could use a boost in the waterflow dep't.
Hope this helps ya!!
