Glad to see you made it here...
Did you ever end up implementing a kalk reactor or a sump to your setup?

    PM me, we'll talk.

My calcium/alk problem only lasted a few weeks and balanced off, I dose some B-Ionic every once in a while. I don't have (so far) high demanding corals so I'm not looking at a reactor right now.

As for my other problem I just took off my custom-top and suspended the lights (which I really have to fix up a little) moved the ph's and everything is fine. I've looked into getting a sump but I'm not sure what I want to do.

My husband has a beautiful creamsicle corn-snake which will eventually need a larger tank and what I'd like to do (and he seems to be ok with this) is when he needs a new = bigger tank he'll take mine and have buy a custom tank made for me.

I'm kind of hesitant to get a sump into the existing system because other than the fluctuating ca/alk (which is slight) I've really had no other problems, (knock knock knock Murphy's law knows me too well ) and don't really want to start looking for any.

I know 0% about plumbing etc and my husband knows 0% about marine stuff and I'd really have to have a diagram drawn up so he'd know exactly what to do. It's probably easier to just wait for snakie to grow and get a new tank.
