try not to use any products.. if its a new tank.. its totally normal.. if its old.. try controlling it with its natural predators and add more current.

natural predators includes snails, crabs, some shrimps.
for the current. the more the better. depending on what you are keeping in there.. try to aim for a 10:1 ratio of gph to gallon of tank size.. so 50g tank would need a min. of 500gph movement.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

I dont have that problem now, but once in a while I will see some start up all I do is take out my small hose and siphon it out..never blow it around your tank it will spread like a plague.

the yellow tint is the trapped protein and fatty acids.. some of which is good for your corals and inverts.. but most of it is excess... thats why your water is tinted yellow... the slime remove traps what ever the red slime feeds off of..

after a week do a water change 15% should be perfect.. and the yellow will begin to fade..
