    SOUTHDOWN SAND and logistics?

I'm planning for a sand bed purchase for JUNE and seems I have few opptions in this department.
SOUTHDOWN[NEWCASTLE?]: I would have to rent a truck, go state side and buy 360lb of sand. what is the cost of sand? were do I go? cost of gas? any duties at the border?

    LFS: espensive!

    BOMIX: don't like it.

    Cool conan

try'd it. lookes to uniform and even thow its sorta white at first I found it turned slightly greyish after. wasn't happy with it. A mixture might be okay but now prefer the real deal of caribsea stuff in different grades.

Newcastle-$5 US per 40lb bag. Duty will depend on how long you're gone for...less than 24hr you have a limit of $25 but if you go for 48hr your limit is around $400 I think. Duty would be hst.

Unless they've changed the sizes, a bag is 50 lbs. John,
I'd say now is the time to go or at least as soon as the garden dep't is stocked up at the H Depots ( which I think is pretty much already done). I have bought some as close as Burlington and while in NYC on Long Island ( I know this one is too far for you). I think Burlington is doable for you. I don't remember where TangMan bought it the last time he went, but I'm betting it's also Burlington because they went shopping for other stuff too and I know they didn't go to lattsburgh. The sand isn't available there anyways.

    toutouche

Is it as easy as just driving there with a truck and coming back across the boarder? do they ask what the sand is for? or do I say nothing? How do I pay any duties on sand when crossing?
