    reefsafe triggers

    i was wondering if anyone has tried a trigger in a reef. the hawiian bluethroat is labled reefsafe,but it must nip at something. i was primarily wondering if it would bother clams

    Nope,
    It is a midwater planktivore eater. A mated pair is especially nice and cool to have!! The male & female differ somewhat in looks.

    I agree with Toutouche.
    I've wanted some of these badboys for a while now...
    That being said however, it should be noted that while they are "planktivores", being a trigger they are still very messy fish.

    Some are also known to be diggers and rockmovers, as they will dig into the sandbed hoping to dislodge any food into the water column.

    picasso trigger

    Figured I'd speak up here...maybe I'm an exception to the rule, but I've got a picasso trigger living happily in my reef. He is there with clowns, gobies, angels, corals, inverts, clams....he bothers no one....a model citizen....He's probably around 3" in size.

    First pic is crap cuz he's too quick to get a shot of without the flash.
