    yellow gorg

Just a question to people who have or have had gorgonians.. what is it that they like eating most? I have read all sorts of things.. just wanted to know what you have been successful with?
    Thanks in advance!!

Golden pearls really gets mine to open. I've found that this mixture always works:

    1/4 teaspoon of golden pearls
7 drops of Selco (not Selcon)
    3 squirts of BioPlankton

I just mix it up with some tank water and target feed the gorgonians and SPS corals. They all love it. Just golden pearls is good too but the other stuff seems to encourage them to open first.

I've also noticed that there is a point of no return with these gorgonians. If you get a healthy one and feed it regularly (I feed mine every night) then they're fine. A too far gone one may never open no matter what you offer it.

    Hope this helps.

I just keep the yellow and red gorgonians and the purple blade gorgonians. Once a day seems to be plenty for these. I can't speak for others.

I've had the purple blades for years. The yellow I guess several months, it was just last winter.

I target fed my purple bush last night and it puffed right out.

I gave it some ESD Phyto mixed with some tank water (I've also ordered G.Pearls from Ivan) and after leaving it confirned to about 2-3 minutes I removed the container and it got so puffy and has remained the same.

Vickie said they *feed ferociously*, so I'll do this daily BUT my question (sorry to jump into this thread this question isn't really worth it's own thread) is if the polyps are out ALL the time does it really matter when the feedings are done? (day or night?)

I only feed golden pearls at night because they bother my clams. At night the clams close up and don't care. I would love to be able to feed during the day more because then I'd see the pretty polyps more.

Sounds like your purple bush is doing great!

I hope it's doing well and keeps it up. The polyps were always present but after the target feeding they just popped out like mad. My husband (who rarely has any comments on the tank) was "Wow look it's all puffy"

Another small question the closer to the base I look the smaller / more scarse the polyps get,
    1) is this normal
    2) should I try to target feed (I'd have to build an addition on to the current one to reach but that's ok) the base as well?

ps I guess that means it doesn't matter when I feed?
