    Question identify this

    i got some rock from a friend....and found this.... any idea what it is. sorry its the best shot i can get. its like a tube worm with a top like an anemone.

    Hmmmm, looks like it could be aiptasia. Not sure though.

    i would'nt worry about it yet lol. your bound to see many of those. get a peppermint shrimp for a start. we can go halfs on a bottle of joes juice if you want. that stuff's supposed to burn em up good

    aptasia

    If it is indeed an aptasia then do not wait! be proactive with these suckers because once they set in good luck.they propagate fast and that one could be doing that right now with out you knowing it.I had a tank set up for 2 years with 0 aptasia, only thing ever added was corals after that point and all off a sudden boom, they arrive. I've only had a few here and there but you think you killed them and they appear some were else.JOE'S JUICE has good feedback. hot vinegar in a syringe works as does KALK in a syringe. Only do a few at a time as you don't want to spike your ph.
    peppermints seem to work for some people but apperently they eat only small ones and can't keep up and sometimes become a pest themselves. without a better pic I can't tell, it might even be a button polyp in low light trying to extend itself.

    sorry for the bad advice there john. i guess thats why i have about 20 of the little buggers in my tank. well try the hot vinegar. i will also try it as soon as i get a syringe. ill have to ask the local crackhead for a loaner LOL.:lol:

    yes it probaly does look wierd to go into the DRUGSTORE to get syringes and explain what there for 'lol"
