    Thanks for the link Flame ... I am sure that one overflow at each end would be required because it will only be in action when the water is high at that end. A LARGE sump volume would be needed so that the return pump would not go dry.

    WHY.. It is the movement of water at the top or bottom of the reef that actually makes for the back and forth motion of all the water?? this is what keeps things clean and fead. I like it .. it is VERY natural IMO.

    I think it's the future for larger tanks. It will keep detritus to a minimum and will be much easier to set up than a surge device.

    I agree Flame. My new tank is 225 at 30 inches tall and i usually do not buy tall tanks because lighting to the bottom can be an issue. I bought this tank so I could have 2 or 3 inches at the top for water MOVEMENT so I like what I see here
