Love these Bulbs, But going with XM's

Well first i must say thanks to Mike..

He was over today and we where testing the new bulbs he picked up.. and wanted to see what they would look like, as well i currently running 65k Iwasakis and i wanted to see how much better the new bulbs would be before i buy some!

now these images where taken with out modifying the settings on the camera, All the same settings and everything.. Nothing different!

    So here we go!!

This is the tank running the 250 watt 65k Iwasakis.

And then running the 250 watt 10K AB's

And here we go with my Clam..

    Under the 65ks

    And then the AB's

    And then my Brain!

Here it is under the 65k

    And under the 10ks

Well i tell you, I love these bulbs.. Too bad i cant afford them.. lol, So i now i can't wait for my XM's to come in..
the only thing is , Not sure on 10ks or 20ks...

    Thanks
    Michael.

Toooloud .. IF you let too much light get to "your" brain it could be affected :-) ....... Sorry couldn't help myself. I like the intensity of the close up PICs but prefer the first PIC for overall look

I used to run 10k's too and i really liked the look, however after a couple of months i found they yellowed a bit, so when i got my replacements i went with 20ks

I don't mind a little Yellowing out, I also run 5 foot VHO URI actinics.. so that should be ok.. With 20ks.. I was just worried it would be too dark to see. I like my tank bright so i can see everything

If your running actinics then i doubt you'll even notice the yellowing

I"m actual going to start runing 20k's and 13k's over my 50 , i'm just waiting on the 13k bulb, i just got my dual 175W ballast in yesterday from cooltouchlighting

From all the reading i have been doing, i have found that the 10k XMs have over double the Par as the 20k.. So i think for sure i will stick with the 10ks. and just run my actincs.

I currently have a 400w 20k XM and will be changing out my now old and due 2x Radiums for 2x 10k XM's. I will then have the 2x 10k XM's on the outsides and a 20K in the middle. Apparantly the best is to combine the 10k's with the 20k's, which I will be also doing. Any 10k will have a much more intense light visually and double the PAR over a 20k bulb.
