I saw the weirdest thing today

I'll try to describe it as well as I can. I believe it to be a giant nudibranch.

It was mostly red(with black and white) had antenae, this blanket type of sheet that started at it's head to tail and back up which constantly waved about. It was at least 1.5" thick and a good 4" long. I couldn't get a really good look at it because it was stuck on some l.r. on an angle.

I tried to locate a picture of this but I can't, anybody have any idea what it was. MAN pretty but very weird!!!!

It's at Nature on the West Island. Like I said it was stuck on some l.r. on one of the bottom tanks but I'm 99% sure it wasn't a fish. It was weird and they just got new stuff in so it wasn't labelled.

It did not have any fins and I've only ever seen nudi's with those blanket things on their backs that wave about. If it's not a nudi then I'd like to know what the hell it is.

    AHHAA

    It's either one of these
    http://www.seaslugforum.net/seahares.htm
    or
    http://www.seaslugforum.net/aplyfasc.htm
Juvenile of Aplysia fasciata from Senegal (middle of the page pic)

I'm certain it is a variety of sea hare.

It was the weirdest looking thing. Pretty very pretty but if I remember properly they are very hard to keep and usually die of starvation.

It's sad it's in this LFS because I don't think he'll last long. They have him in with a lion fish and will probably try to pawn him off on anyone.

He was similar to the pic in the middle of the page but much deeper red and feathery with many spots.
