    American marine PH Question?

    Hi Everyone,

I had a question? My American Marine ph meter fluctuates 8.15 - 8.18 within a few seconds is it normal for it to go say 8.15 - 8.16 - 8.18 - 8.15. Do they normally do this? I recently calibrated it and it still does it.

    Thank You
    Terry

It is not unusual if I compare it's activity to my own. Mine will flash the next higher or lower number in 2nd decimal position as the reading rises or falls depending on which way the trend is going

It's time to change your probe.

Toutouche .. My probe is only perhaps a few months old. My Redox meter by a different manufacturer also flashes the 2nd decimal position as the numbers rise or fall. I would hate to think that both my new probes are not working?

    O.k. OldSalty & tpirovol,
As a rle when a meter is bouncing around a lot, it means the probe is either old or defective, However, now that I saw that little video, I'll say it's not the case here because the bouncing is an extremely bigger range than that.
Rob, I'm assuming yours is like in the vidoe, correct?
Do you guys have the probe in a high current area? Maybe it's just catching readings that are constantly sweeping by it quickly?

OK that activity is a little different then what mine dose as mine only moves to the next number up or down. You say you have calibrated the probe so I will guess that you also cleaned it. Have you tried changing its location. Is it currently in the flow stream from the sumps return pump.
