    My new tank LOG

Well i got the itch again today, it started off as just wanting to build a new stand for my 25 gal softy tank, then after going to the hardware store and getting some a 8ftx4ft sheet of 3/4" birch and some 2/4 supports, i decided that instead of making just a new stand i was going to build a whole new tank stand and canopy and move my current 25 gal into a new home

Here is what i plan on having

The tank i will build out of 5mm glass and it will be 42 gal, 30x18x18 ( possibly 30x18x20 )

IT will have a cs 90 overflow to a 10 gal sump,
turbofloater 1000 fed by rio 2100 pump
    mag 5 return
40 lbs live rock , all from current 25 gal setup
    2-3 inch southdown sand bed
2x65 W power compact 50/50 lights ( may go to VHO in the future )

I can't wait i think those dimensions will make for a very intresting tank, the depth and height will be nice.

Today i started out building the stand, i cut all the wood out of the 8x4 sheet of birch, and dry fit it all together,

Todays pics are pretty boring, but it will give you an idea of what the stand will look like, it has a 2x4 base surrounded by the 3/4" birch, and dual doors on the front,

These pics are just the dry fit of the wood to make sure everything fits well, i hope to assemble the frame of the stand tomarrow and get working on the doors

Just goes to show that a reef keeper also has to be a preety good carpenter. LOL. Congrats on the new project man. Keep the pics coming as it gets together.
