    It's almost time!

After what seems like forever, it's almost time. Almost 11 weeks have gone by since the decision to start a reef tank and it's just about ready for the salt water.

I have "work in progress" pics at www3.sympatico.ca/joelaine if you're interested.

Now if I can just make it through the next few weeks!

    Very nice!

Not messin' around hey? Nice back room.. an HSA skimmer too.

Did you run the drains yourself (tear up the floor) ?

Perty fancy wall hole "guards".. nice! I just used packing tape.

Have you tried your ReefOptix III reflectors yet? Are those DE HQI 250w'ers? Been looking at those, not sure whether to go with the PFO pendant or the ReefOptix III one. Haven't seen the ReefOptix available from a Canadian online place. Oakville carries those? Hmmm..

    Lookin' good!

Thanks IJO and bristleworm....appreciate the feedback.

Fishysan, here are the answers to your questions:

Drains - no, that was a big and messy job. I figured while I was putting in the drain for the sink I'd keep going and put in a drain for the sump - it's already come in quite handy.

Will need to wait about a week or so before I have the ReefOptix III up and running. The canopy gets wired this weekend. I purchased these from Oakville Reef Gallery, 905 338-2782 (www.oakvillereefgallery.com) - ask for Tom or Flavio.

By the way - I have all the RO water made and water is circulating. DSB is in and I have a nice white, milky water....yum....now, more waiting!

Decided today to also add a calcium reactor.....that should do it for now.

Sweet Joe! Good luck on it all!

    Where abouts are you located?

BTW - did you get electronic ballasts or PFO HQI?

    Thanks for the reply.
