Smile Mixing VHO bulbs with workhorse 7

    Can this be done?
I would like to spread out the actinic and aqua suns over the top of the tank by putting 1 of each type of bulb per ballast both bulbs are 110 watts and the ballasts are wired using only 3 red wires to fire the bulbs.
you lads see any harm running the bulbs in this fashion. or will they burn out faster..
    cheers.

I can't see any problems with doing it this way orion... harley was having issues with running 2 day bulbs and had to run an actinic/day combo per ballast. Not sure why but it seems to work now.

A few other users are running these ballast.. maybe they could give you their experience.

No problem with mixing two 110 Watt Bulbs. Infact a buddy of mine just hooked up one Aqua-sun and one Super Atinic. He used all 4 red wires. The bulbs are much brighter on the WH7 then the ICECAP 660 I use. The super atincs seem more blue on the WH7 and more purplish on the ICECAP

    Thanks for the info.
I found things a bit two blue. By mixing the bulbs this should even out the hue
hats off to Ivan the lighting is better than expected at a fraction of the cost of ice cap (another shameless plug)
