    Hangon Overflows

    Hey All,

Just wanted to know if anyone on the board has experience with hangon overflows... Drilling my new tank is not an option and I would like to install a sump. My main concern are the hardwood floors in the appartment and the risk of flood, so my main questions is how reliable are hangon overflows ?

You always run the risk of loosing the siphon with an external overflow box. I personelly use a saline solution overflow box with two u-tubes, so far I've had no problems as long as Ikeep the tubes clean.

I use the 'Lifereef' Overflow (ordered from the U.S.). It was highly recommended on the boards, and I really like it. Don't know how it could cause a flood unless I really worked at it
