I find Turbo snails in general to have a very poor track record in captivity- I know some will disegree, but I've never seen turbos live long term in a reef.
The 'threads' are probably mucus or slime from it dying.
There is really no way to tell what caused it's death without knowing a lot about you tank, all the paremeters etc.

temperature is at 28 degrees, i dont think it was stress, it was in the night while i was sleeping and i didnt introduce anything in the tank, my parameters are good, everything is ok. My last arrival was a RBTA + ricordea and zoanthid about 2 weeks ago. I had my snails for around 1 month. I have 8 blue legs hermits crabs but they dont seem to attack my snails which are much bigger than them. My pH is at 8.08 during the day and 8.24 in the night... salinity is at 1.024. Nitrite, nitrate are good. I did the test last week.

I dont think its a good idea to have hermits crabs... i bougth 10 of them and now, they keep on fightning with my cerith snailsfor they shell even if i put some empty in the tank. Its seem to be working up to now for me, its just that i dont know about the one who died... All the others are ok except one that got suck up by my powerhead. He has been suck up 3 times in all but the last one kill him... powerhead was too strong. i find them hardy for that reason.
