    Green Stripped Mushrooms

    Hi All,

Well I finally got my lighting over my LR today and within what could have easilly been less than a few hours 3 fingernail sized (not sure how big these are suppose to be) green stripped mushrooms showed up. Will these survive under my VHO lighting and what should I do for these to thrive and possibly even multiply ?

I'll try and get a pick up here in the next few days....

    Nick.

awesome nbreau.... your gonna be amazed at what you find in your liverock...

Mushroom: Moderate lighting... (VHO is great) and low to medium current.

Most likely they will just split, not spawn. Could though but you have to have a very well established and stable tank for that to happen. I had 1 ricordia and 6 months later I have 12. Keep an eye on them because they can kill sps corals by spreading onto them...

    Hi All,

When i first noticed the mushrooms I had moved them up high as close to the light as possible. They had openend up nicely and turned bright green... However last night I noticed that they are starting to shrivel back up, could they be too close to the light ? I've moved them to the bottom but they still get direct light. Does anybody know the exact lighting requirements os these mushrooms and where they should be placed ?

    thanks,
    Nick.

Mushrooms should be low in the tank. They don't have many requirements, especially in terms of light...

    Hope that helps.
