Crab with fans instead of claws?

I found a crab in my tank with fans (like a feathers duster) in the place of it's claws. Anyone ever seen this? If so, can you help me ID please.

    Thanks,

    Pat

Could it be a boxer/pom-pom crab holding some little featherdusters?

The fans are for filter feeding. If he has no claws then he only filter feeds & keeping him fed could be a challenge. You'll need plankton etc to keep him happy. (Check out reef crew)

If he also has claws then he filte feeds & eats "normally" and feeding is much less of a challenge.

A picture would help a lot though

    Cheers!

Unfortunalely I cant get a picture of it as it's always hiding in a small tunnel and I can only see it with a flash light.
But the porcelain crab would seem to be a good match... It's definetly not a pom-pom crab becasue I can see the 'fans' flashing in and out. It is a small specimen but the good thing is that I am adding phytoplankton every two days (10ml for my 50g).
Thanks alot guys for the help!

porcelin crabs are very cool. i have two, and both have different colors than the picture tang man posted. one is purple with purplie/tan stirps, adn the other is tan with black spots. not to worry about planton feeding, they will eat anything they can get ahold of. mine particullay likes mysis shrimp. nice find on your live rock:biggrinbo

I too have a prcelain crab and they are cool to watch feed ( although somewhat shy and reclusive).
Try feeding your tank with other things besides phyto such as Cyclop Eeze, Golden Pearls, etc...

Cool!!! I saw another one up close in my tank and it's way bigger than the other!

    Thanks guys for the ID.

I now have two in my tank that I know of, I must say that I am very happy with the live rock I got from marinescape in Ottawa. Lots of life on them, not all good but im slowly cleaning the bad (mostly big crabs).
