    Red Sea Salt

I bought a 200 gal bucket of Red Sea Salt. It was on sale at Petcetera for 49.98, plus my girlfreind works there so I get an additional 25% off. It came to 42.00 bucks with taxes. I just couldn't pass that offer up, even if the salt sucks.

My question is, does anyone have experince with Red Sea Salt? If so was it good or bad? I'm going to be using it for my next water change in my 10 gallon tank. I am currently using Kent Marine salt. I will keep you posted if my corals react positively or negatively from the salt.

I use the 200 gal buckets of Red Sea Salt and have never had a problem, but I have FOWLR. So please post what your corals think of this new salt.

    Hey there,

I looked up some interesting info regarding salt mixes. Thought you may find it interesting as well.

    Hello,

The following is the best comparison of the major brands of salt available on the market I have seen. In the reviews, Red Sea Salt actually gets a pretty good review.

Thanks for the tip Cableguy! I grabbed a bucket today. Hard to beat 200G's for only 50 smackers!

At that price ... If it's good salt .. Buy a bunch of it because even at regular prices water changes is one of the cheapest way to maintain good water quality.

They have this sale regularly it seems. I picked one up at that price in January. The only comment I have to add is that it tends to be 'dirty' ... lots of little pieces of sh...tuff. Sure beats the $119 price tag here in town for the 'reefer number 1 choice'.

    Thanks for the links.
I figured for 42 bucks it was worth a try. even if it was crappy salt. I guess time will tell if it's any good.
