    Pickling Lime?

So I built myself a auto top off system that although very budget (under 10$ ) I can't find a grocery store in the Ottawa area that carries pickling lime!

Anyone know a source in the Ottawa area??

    Thanks!

Any source in Canada for pickling lime would be nice. I've had no luck in the kingston area and from a previous thread on this subject no one will ship it from the states.

Pickling Lime is prohibited from being sold in Canada. That is why you can't find it and why no one will ship it here.

If you want it, you'll have to drive over the border to get it.

No kidding huh? Did I get myself on some kind of list driving around grocery stores asking about it?

So why's it prohibited out of curiosity?

Americans are funny about their rules about international shipping. when i was looking for my glass coring bit I found a place that sold them but they were only allowed to ship the bit internationally. They are not allowed to ship the part you would need to mount that bit in a drill ??? kind of useless really

It's prohibited to be sold as Pickling Lime in Canada because it is carcinogenic.

And good luck finding it in the states too. I was down there a few weeks back in the twin cities and nothing. And talking to some of the guy down there, no one carries it. "Apparently" it's a little easier to get out west in like Oregan, from what I've read.
