    Unhappy devils hand being eaten

I must have some kind of perisite or something, cause my devils hand has been declining for the last 2 months. Originally I cut it from it's stem cause it was beeing eaten, and I put it on a new rock , and it was doing great for about a month. Now I see this morning it's sliding right off the rock and that part of it's body has been eaten. i don't see any nudis or anything else( with my eyes) Any ideas, on what it is and what to do?

Are you absolutely sure it's being eaten and not just declining in health?

    Gools,
I'd be surprised that the devil's hand is being eaten... it is among one of the more noxious corals...

i had one that tripled in size in a year. i keep cutting it with a scissor to frag it, it's been torn apart for attaching to more than one rock - all the abuse you can think of, and it just keeps growing. i've heard that fungus can attack a devils hand and that may be what you have. but they are deffinitely one of the hardiest corals in my experience.

If it's happening since you moved it, then it is probably simply not happy where you placed it and is receding healthwise.

Well I cut off the rotten parts and put it in a Q tank just to watch, so we'll see what happens. Do you think it will be ok under 2- 40w 10000K bulbs for the mean time?
