    Reef Related Digital Camera

    Alright guys..

    We are buying a new camera.. and want some suggestions..

    Right now we are leaning towards the

    Minolta Dimage Z2
    Info Here



    Its with in our price range.. we can get it with in our $600 price range!

    Does anyone have this.. or have used it.. or can recommend a camera with the same specs.. or better with in my price range??

    Seems like a nice camera. Were are you getting it from? I was saving for a Canon Digital Rebel, but I would gladdy save the money and get something like that. I like the fact that it's close up capability is 3.9". I just wonder how much more the wide angle adapter is? Oops, my mistake you can get as close as 1.2" with 'super macro mode'.

    Oh if you look on eBay you can get the camera for around 500, maybe even cheaper if you look harder then I did.

    When I shopped around for a DC the Nikon got great reviews.

    I went with the Nikon 5700 at the time it was expensive but now since the 8700 has come out they have dropped quite a bit.

    Adam.. I picked it up from Costco for 499.. lol, Bought from there as they have a 30 day return no questions asked!! Money back warrenty!

    Opps.. Sorry.. I picked up the Z1 for 499... it was cheaper.. and allmost hte same as the Z2

    Very good camera for the price. I am sure it will do good job taking picture of your tank.
    It has quite good macro capabilities witch is something very important when taking pictures of corals and other living creatures in ours tanks.
