    New Baby!

My cleaner shrimp are always laying eggs, but i never expect anything of it. This morning i noticed in my sump, yup you guessed it, a baby cleaner shrimp (about an inch big). I have no idea how long he's been in there or how old he is. after a lot of chasing and rock moving (its filled with rock rubble) i finally caught him and introduced him to his mansion (the main tank) i hope he likes it better than the sump, and i hope he survives. if he made it this far, wont he likely survive? anyone have experience with this before?

    Wow!
If he's already an inch long, he should be able to make it...

    Cool

definatly not normal and chances are that it was a hitchhiker or a different shrimp.I don't know of anyone succesfull breeding these. I've had cleaners lay[release] many eggs many times but none have ever surrvived. similar to clownfish, they eggs all the time but you need a special setup to breed them.
consider it a cool bonus hitch hiker.

um, but the only rock i ever added to my sump was dead dry rock rubble that was man-made. i doubt a cleaner shrimp could've hitchhiked on that.

shucks. i guess then that i'm not the first.
but at least now i know my tank paramaters must be in optimal conditions.
perhaps running skimmerless gave the eggs a better chance.

dont start with me now greg.
i'm sure the canadians were the first at things too... perhaps the first to lose a war? after all, you are still under british rule, ever hear of a revolution? or would that require some military strength?
