    The Bulletproof hermit

I think i have the toughest hermit crab alive, 2 days ago i drained my 50 gal saltwater tank to convert it to fresh for the school year, and i must have forgotten to take out one of the hermit crabs that was in the tank, then i filled the tank up with cold water ( freshwater ) to let it cycle before i get my oscars, and i go down there this morning and the hermit crab is walking along merrily in 60 deg fresh water!!! So i threw him in my tank upstairs right away and he's still kickin!

This is not unusual for a crab. I have read of people keeping their LR in a trunk where it has dried out completely for a week, or outdoors under the hot sun for awhile where it has completely dried out and yet a crab will pop out sooner or later in the tank. These guys rule when it comes to survival!!
