250 and 400 Watt Metal Halides 10,000K lamps

    Ivan,

Thanks for allowing me to post on this forum about this introductory offer.

    Dear Members,

I am in the process of becoming a distributor for Metal Halide lamps. I am offering Metal Halide lamps at heavily discounted introductory prices.

These lamps are made in ISO 9001 facilities with German Know-how, components and equipments.

    The specs are as follows:

Works on Probe/Pulse start ANSI ballast.
    Produces a crisp white light.
    Rated: 10,000K (actual cct 11,835K).
    Average Life: 8000 hours.

    250 Watts - CAD$42
    400 Watts - CAD$45

Thesre are introductory prices and I cannot sell these lamps at these prices for long.

If you are interested please give me a call at 843-9280 or email me at venkiw@yahoo.com. I have a few bulbs that have some fragments of glass inside the shell that do not affect performance of the lamps, they are offered at $20 (as is).

    Thanks

    Venki Worathur

    Venkiw,

I met you briefly at Sean's place. Hope all is well.

I'm curious as to what the fragments of glass are in the discounted bulbs?

I know you say it doesn't affect the performance of the lamps, but what about the longetivity?

8000 hours comes to about 333 days. Almost a year. Does that mean that the colourshift only starts at that time, or do they gradually colourshift over the course of a year, and eventually become useless?

If the glass fragments don't affect performance AND longetivity, I'd be interested in trying the 250w discounted bulbs.

    Thanks!

    Vince.

    Hi Vince,

These are just residual glass left from the manufacturing process, I am told that it is common with MH manufacturing process, they don't have an impact on longevity of these lamps.

The burn time of the lamps are supposedly similar to lamps used in the hobby.

    Venkiw,

Out of curiosity, do you have any specsheets on the bulbs? Anything at all on the bulb that could identify it?

    AC ?

what about something cool and hip like sun-clone or arti-sun or metal sun or megalight or .... yeah I suck at creativity, I'm just a typical computer programmer I guess.

Anyone want to suggest a cheap ballast and sockets that would run these lights ?
