Blue or Yellow tang or both.

    I have a small 29G tank.
Currently I have two clowns and some corals.
I am planning of buying a Blue tang.
I heard that they don't help controlling algae problems.
But yellow tangs in other hand do. I had one and he did a good job.
My questions is. Woud it be too much having a two small tags (yellow and blue) in my tank?.
Are blue tanks hard speices to keep in the tank?
    thanks in advance.

For the blue tang I would recommend a 50gallon tank or larger because of their swimming habits. On the other hand I don't see a problem with a yellow tang in there because they would require a 30 gallon and 29 is close enough for sure. I've heard that the blue tangs are harder to keep than the yellow ones but I am not sure. Just my opinion. Good luck.

Unfortunately tangs require alot of room to swim, like a tank at least 4 feet long. And they get big. Now if we could only breed mini tangs! You would be much better off looking for something smaller. Lawnmower blennies are great algae eaters and have lots of personality. I'm sure others will pipe in with other suggestions.

According to Scott Michael, yellow tangs require a minimum of 75 gallons, powder and pacific blue tangs require 100 gallons. He is our leading fish guru.

They are babies. They will grow very big. Unless they weren't tangs. Iknow how you feel though- they are totally adorable!! Like I said, we need mini tangs!
