    Tsunami auto Top off system

I am looking for comments by people using the Tsunami AT-1 Auto Top off system.

Good or bad comments about it would be appreciated.

I am currently using a Kent aquadoser, but filling it up every day has become a pain. I am thinking about buying the Tsunami unit hooked to a powerhead and a 26 gallon reservoir. The unit sells for $99.00.

You can build your own for dirt cheap or tang man sells em pre-made for a little cheaper than the Tsunami.

I built my own auto top-off circuit for about 25$ plus the cost of the float switches (10$ each).

    Hi,

How did you build one so cheaply? I just built one myself and the cost of everything was $50 including the switch. How is yours set up?

I think the Tsunami auto Top off system is very neat and not expensive.

I used a dedicated 12V 1A power supply adapter to power my switches, its also powering my canopy fans for cooling and will activate my thermistor circuit when I actually get around to doing it hehe, im sooo lazy : A project box from radioshack to house it all in, a quick connect terminal strip to quick connect/disconnect fans and switches, an extension cord from homedepot spliced in half for the IN and OUT for the power to topoff pump and a relay from and electronics shop to activate the whole.

Then asides those costs, approx. 25$...add on the cost of the float switches.

    Hi,

Thanks. Thinks must be cheaper out east since I basically have the same setup but the cost of them was much higher.

    All I have is:
    1xCanadian Tire extension cord
    1xRelay
    1xfloat switch
    1x24VDC power supply
    1xProject box
Those together cost me around $50. Is there a place you shop for your relays and transformers?

Interesting. But isn't that a lot of pain and work to save 50$?

    Extension Cord - 3$
    Project Box - 3$
    Relay - 5$
    12V Pwr Supply 15$

I shop at a local electronics shop, its where I got my relay and pwr supply.

Its not THAT much work and personally id rather save 50$, I also do console mods/custom console mods so I have no problem in building my own circuits, and I have no degree/diploma in electronics, all I learned was from trial and error and reading up online and playing with electronics since I was a kid. Even if you have no experience, its a very simple circuit to build.

    Thanks AK.

The auto topoff only takes about 1/2hr - 1hr to build depending on how organized and skilled with a soldering iron you are.
