    AquaController Review

I guess I felt like surfing tonight... found another kewl article on reefs.org about the AquaController.

    http://www.reefs.org/library/article/neptune_ac2.html

These things are way to kewl... ReefVan... where are you? hehe

After reading that review.. I definately want a controller now... does anyone currently have/had one who would like to share their experiences?

IN all due honesty, I've been reading MANY diy aquacontroller type threads all over. I've even got a couple of schematics.

The problem lies in supply and demand. In order to make it worthwhile, I'd have to order the parts to make at least 10.

    Then there's the software, etc...

It COULD be done. With an order of 10 or so, maybe around $400 each... Believe it or not, the probes boost the price up tremendously.

Geez, I keep thinking of something else to say after pressing SEND.

The main reason I want this is to be able to keep an eye on things from a distance, and even have the tank alert me to problems via text message.

Add in all the control aspects and automation, and you've got a reefer's wet dream. (pardon the pun)

yup way cool. all that, plus wavemaker, and it also does temperature control, which is an immediate one I want. Make the temp more stable, etc. cool that you can turn on extra fans with it, and even turn off your MH if it still gets warm, then call ya.

I was going to order one in the spring finally, then I caught wind/rumour that the III was coming out.. so I never did. I almost bought a used II PRO, but I hesitated and it sold, dumb move on my behalf.

As soon as I order it, the III will come out. Heheh.

What I would then DIY is the hardwired part to run certain critical stuff on it, as X-10's way cool, but not reliable. Using that now for some stuff..
