    Cool Kalk As Topoff.

KALK as topoff, I have and issue with the way I'm topping off and not sure how to fix the problem. I does KALK right in my 25g topoff bucket. It works great as I have 2 large sumps to dillute but the problem is this, when the MAXIJETT stops pumping it back flows a bit which in turn keeps the kalk sediment always stirred up. This sends small small amounts of particles into the main water and I want a crystal clear tank. only remedy I can think of is to actually drip the clear liquid from another setup into my sump or topoff bucket.
would a KALK reactor be better? I hate to ass any more pumps or things to worry about.

How is it setup as far as positionings height wise? If I understand you correctly, it's the water supply tube with the Maxijet that does some backflow? What diameter tube are you using to supply the water? Why don't you add a small check valve? I have 1 on my 1/4" tube that supplies the CO2 to my reactor. The reactor sits higher than the CO2 bottle and whenever I have to open the bubble chamber ( I have the Milwaukee all in one regulator from Stephane), water from inside the reactor would come out the tube fast as it frained. I since added the small one way check valve and solved the problem.

I dont see a problem personally. Curious, how often does your top-off turn on? Just wondering why the sediment (result of backwash) does not have enough time to settle before the next top-off cycle?

    Cool

I probally evaporate 10 or more gallons a day.I find if you stir up the unused kalk it does tent to stay clouded for some time.
I'm being picky but I want crystal clear water. I'm running carbon already.
