    Featured Tank

I would like to set up a featured tank. something like TANK OF THE MONTH but it will be bimonthly and of the member who hosts that MASO meeting. It could have a small info section and pics. I think this will be a nice touch as we are starting to have more people visiting this site and you can show off your true passion. I'm working on getting a quality camera or someone who can take the pics with a good camera.[FISHYSAN!] anyone have any input on this? It would be awsome to open this site and have a pic of a members tank. I used to love going onto RC and checking out all those tanks.

Thats a great idea... if there is enough interest I'll could add the new section to the board, code a new page for each Featured Tank, or maybe we could have them in their own Photopost category?

Since it will coincide with actual meetings, instead of calling it "This month's featured tank" it could be "This Meeting's tank" or "Host's Tank"...

... and provide specifics and a general write-up just like RC.

    Johnny,
When you say you need input on this, does "this" mean a digicam? Let me know, I could help guide ya. I did a lot of research on cams before finally deciding on mine. Some co-workers even come to me now when buying digicams. In the end, it's all the bottomline.... How much ya wanna spend...

    IJO,
Maybe we could start up a photography forum? Not necessarily just for posting pics, but also for techniques and so forth. I have several cool documents that can be of use to many.

Mine's an Olympus 3040.. It's a few years old now so I don't know what's out there these days. Probably hard to go wrong with the the units out there now.

I'd probably still buy a camera with great optics (strong optic zoom too, digi's crap) and 5mps for fun. Of course 3mps is great for most uses.

The HotM (Host of the Month) sounds cool.

    Cool HOTM!

Can I use that term FISHYSAN? HOTM. I like it. I'llhave to sit with IVAN and see what can be done. It would be cool to somehow have it linked or right on the open page of the site. Like I mean a really nice sized main pic and then some seperate pics with info[sorta like RC]. Thanks vince for the info and I will be talking to ya soon as I work this out.

HotM - sure John, go ahead and use that!

Just remember, whatever you buy, make sure it has the basics you need.
