    Narsiuss ate my Clam!

I woke up yesterday and went to check on my fishies only to discover.....3 of my Narsiuss (spelling?) were inside one of my Clams! They were actually eating him alive! I tried to get the snails out but I was too late! I lost probably the second nicest clam that I have!:bawling: Well to say the least I am trying to get the snails out of the tank......not an easy task! I managed to get 4 out and I have 5 left to go. Has anyone else had this problem? I feed my Narsiuss snail every night so it's not like they were hungry and needed to eat! I wish they could have picked a cheaper coral to munch on!

Why is it called "cargo" when it goes by ship, and "shipment" when it goes by car?

I have never heard of sniails eating a clam. I thought that snails only ate stuff that was dead or algae. Guess I was wrong. Sorry for the expensive loss.

If your clam was stressed snails , hermits , cleaner shrimp will make a meal of it .
You don't really know if your clams are sick until it's too late.
    Your loss is very unfortunate.
I would suggest you check out this site http://www.clamsdirect.com/http://www.reefland.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=47

lotus02, those links don't work for me! I don't think he was stressed. I've had him for a couple of months now and he always opened well beyon his shell. The snail are always crawling on the clams shells. I guess that could be stressing them out but I just don't know why they are on the shell in the first place! Gotta get them out before they start to munch on another one of my Clams!

Nope! Deffinetly Narssarius Snails. I have 9 in total. they have the little tube on their heads and spend most of the day burried in the sand!

Nassarius snails eat meat as well as vegeatation. That is what makes them effective scavengers. They do need meaty foods to survive.
    Piatchie: sorry for your loss.
