Talking Free Mantis Shrimp - Ottawa region -

I finally caught the mantis that was terrorizing my tank and am willing to give it away for the sake of it's little (destructive) life.

If you are interested, please let me know asap because I dont know how long I can keep it alive in my old fish bowl.

I will gladly accept a frag in exchange, but if you dont have anything, dont worry about it!

    Pat

Hehe Mantis Shrimp's are coming up left and right nowadays! I would personally keep him as a pet in a dedicated tank, they are very cool

I cant tell you what kind it is, but I suspect it is a hammer one since it has been killing crabs.... I could be wrong.

It's got some nice colors, green and blueish.

I just hope it doesn't die even though it killed ALL my porcelain crabs....

Its sad how the animals with the most personality are always the hardest to keep. Its like the SW version of the convict cichlid. I once had three of these, at first they were amazing to watch and full of personality and then they killed everything and started to kill each other so I had to give them away.

Mantis are not hard to keep ... in fact they are one of the most hardy creatures you can find. They have to be in their own tank though or else they will cleanup the cleanup crew
