    Was spot feeding the brain went to another room came back to this.

    It looked like it was just eating the brine shrimp that fell on the sand.
    It is almost always under the sand ,comes out when I feed the tank , has not been a real problem but will keep an eye on him .
    As for the brain changed my lights from 10K to 20k and moved it a few times and it was a bit stressed so thought I would help it out a bit. Looks good now .

    I dunno, I suspect it's a kind of whelk, could possibly be trouble some day.

    Have you noticed a decline in your snail population? I had a whelk (well a crown conch technically) for two days, and within those days it ate numerous nassarius snails and 4 astreas. The only time it came out of the sand was at feeding time and to get a light snail snack.
