    Anemone care levels?

I want to get some input as to what would be the best host Anemone for my pink skunk clown. I have a 35gal with Strong PC lighting. currantly have some shrooms and mostly LR.

Im thinking about maybe a carpet?

I would recommend a frogspawn coral instead of an anemone.

I bought a bubbletip anemone for my occelaris clowns and regretted it for a long time. It was healthy and happy and split and split until soon I had 8 of them stinging my corals. The clowns did much better without it.

Beware of carpet anemones, they have a bad reputation for eating fish.

you do not have enough lighting for an anenome. especially a carpet.they need prestine water and high levels of light. a few will do well with VHO but MH is always recommended.

    Cool

clowns do not need a host, they'll host in whatever they want. you could have an anenome and a clown might not even take to it anyways. TOADSTOOL leathers are also popular hosts for clowns.

I dont know what your lighting is but make sure you check lighting requirements for what ever you buy, just trying to save you some heartache Not sure but I think frogspawn need strong lighting.

anemones are hard to make happy, i second the taodstool or frogspawn, even hairy shrooms

Agreed, clownfish can not be depended upon to host where you want them. The best thing to do is to provide a few different types of corals that they are known to host in and let them decide. There are some excellent suggestions above.

I have seen them in a torch coral also. They seemed to love it. I have a torch under VHO's that appears to be happy. I don't find it hard to care for.
