I think the best Fish Food is variety. you dont eat the same thing every day and neither should your fish.

I have at least a whole bunch of different frozen foods
(Ocean Nutrition: Prime Reef, Formula One, Formula Two, Angel Formula, Brine Shrimp Plus, Special Formula VHP / Hikari: Mysis, Krill, Plankton, Brine Shrimp)

And then i also have a whole bunch of dry foods in freeze dried, pellets and flakes in different sizes and from different companies. (Kent Marine, Ocean Nutrition, OSI, Cyclop-Eez, San Francisco bay, Garlic Flakes, etc)

And lastly i also use wet foods (Sweetwater Zooplankton, Marine Snow, Reef Flus) and powders (Golden Pearls, ESV Phytoplankton, Cyclop-Eez).

I know it seems crazy, but i try almost all foods, and my fish like that they get to have a variety every day (they never complained).

This may not have answered your question, but at least it shows that variety may be a factor.

Doesn't sound crazy at all Alrha, I totally agree, variety is very important. There is much we don't know about our fish and our best bet is to provide as wide a variety as possible in hopes they are getting the nutrition they need. I have been doing some research on feeding angelfish, especially very young ones. Apparently when very small they tend to spend time in caves with eels and scientists believe they get some nutrition from eel slime. Now that is something that would be hard to bottle and sell.

Hmmm, yeah, but I just need the slime. I wonder how oddly they'd look at me at the fish market if I asked them to scrape the slime off their eels for me
