    Unhappy Brown algea

Tonight when back at home I have a lot of brown algea... I used to have some green one and now they are all brown. Is it the cycle of algea, from green, to brown and after they are gone. Does the brown algea can produce nitrate.

So back at home I redid all the test... So here are the result:

    SG(salt): 1.022
Alk: High(no number only color chart(blue))
    PH: 8.2
    Phosphate: 0
    Amonia: 0
    Nitrate: 15
    Nitrite: 0
    Calcium: 420

I have a bag of chemipure in the back compartment... to maybe help reduce the nitrate.

And should I do something for my ALK...

    Thank you for your help,
    Martin Langlois

Your brown diatoms are related to your nitrate. The chemipure will help but there's NOTHING like a water change to do the job. Maybe cut back a little on feeding if you feed heavy. Make sure your filtering capacity is up to the job for your given bio load.
