Is it possible to use HDPE recyclable material in a reef tank

I'm trying to setup something in my sump and found the right size container for my needs, however, it is marked HDPE. Will this be ok for an in the sump application?

    Thanks!

HDPE = High Density PolyEthelene = Starboard = Cutting Board. Its safe. I use it in my tank instead of sand! There's also a huge thread on Reef Central about it if you have any more questions (I must warn you that it is over 100 pages).

    Thanks newguy!

I'll go take a look on the Reef Central thread. I didn't mention it in my thread, but this stuff is blue. I assume this stuff is dyed blue so I wonder if that dye could leak into the tank.

does'nt have to be a die.. possibly just extruded blue polyethelene, the mix is before the molding i believe.
scratch it, if its a die.. its surface only.. if its true and true.. molded. they are talking online about possibly copper in those containers.. since most blue dies are made from copper.. but there is little proof of that yet.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.
