    how to detatch ricordea

Anyone know of a safe/easy/harmless way to detach a ricordea from a rock ? Could I gently/slowly just pull him off the rock ?

AFAIK, yes. They're basically mushrooms & can be almost fragged in a blender. I think Ivan frags them by cutting the head off & letting each part grow back.

So I supect the worst you have to worry about is ending up with 2 riccordia if you peel it off.

If you have a lot of time though I've found mine move if they don't like their current spot. They're on a completely differnent rock now 'cuz I pissed them off the last time I re-orged my rock.

It takes a couple weeks for them to move tho, don't hold your breath.

There is nothing so permanent as a temporary measure.
