    position of powerhead's

I got 2 maxijet 1200 to replace my hagen 201.
I found MJ very strong.Dont have a clue on how to position them, everything i try I get huricane in my tank my sand looks like dune's in the Sahara.i placed them at rear corners.First I had flow directed towards middle front wich created wirpool in the middle, then i had them cross flow. and I am going crazy now.(even called in sick for today so I can fix this)
    .
    any advice would be great,
    tank is 47 g fyi

If you find the flow is too strong, you can use the deflectors that come with the Maxis.

Also try to set them up so the currents don't reinforce each other. Place them so that the streams cross or near miss. This will create more turbulent flow.

I did so and i have little hills of sand,
hammer and GSP have lots of current going thru them, hope it is not to much for them.Ill let everything settle down and see if I'll have more sand drifts.

Where are the PW aimed? Try moving them higher in the tank and pointing more towards to the top. Flow at the top =flow at the bottom without creating a snow storm.

yeah i found that 1200's a bit strong for a 47g...but you could cut off the nozzle off your maxis and get a wider flow..thats what i do
    Derik...
