    Algae Growth in my CA reactor

    Does anyone else get hair algae in their calcium reactor , i do, i'm not sure why

    Nope, mines in the dark though. Do you have much light on it?

    its in my sump because it leaks, i've tried a ton of things to get the slow leak to stop but to no avail

    I had some green algae growing on the side that my refuge light was hitting. I simply taped a piece of construction paper around the tube on that side to block the light. I know others get this too. It's because some light is hitting it on that side. Never heard of actual hair algae though, but I guess it can grow just the same as any other type.
