They are both Monti's. They will intertwine with no problem. Many people including myself, purposely mix different types and colors together for a nice look.

I wish i had different colors i've been trying to get my hands on a red monti cap for along time, with no success at all.
ITs good that they won't bother each other though, what species of monti would the one in the top right be ?

Hard to nail it down from that pic as it's a bit blurry for the details. However, to me it looks like a Montipora Foliosa.
Below is a link with examples of various Montiporas.

I've heard that it takes an examination of the skeleton under the microscope to determine the species of SPS. Is this so? The montiporas on the website seem quite different.

    Michel,
Well, if you want to get technical about it, then yes. But I think we can all make a pretty good guess when looking at a pic too and the fact that we already know it's a Monti. Otherwise, every single post asking for help identifying a coral would have to be answered as you said. If you notice, I said it "looks" like .., not "is". The Monti's on the website are different looking because they "are" different as you'll notice from the different names. Also, every coral will look different from every tank and even different positions in the same tank!!
