Does anyone use Tropic Marine Boi-Calcium I just bought some for the meanwhile before I get my CA reactor, does anyone have any experience with it?

I used it a few years ago. I wasn't really happy with it because I found it messed up my other parameters too much. I can't really remember the specifics now just that I didn't like it. My favourite calcium additive is Turbo Calcium by Kent. Very easy to use and very effective.

I used Bio-Calcium for a while. The problem with it is that it will boost total alkalinity at the same time as it raises your calcium levels. This may be OK, if that's what you need, but could be a problem if either your calcium or your alkalinity is out of wackto begin with, and you wanted to adjust one or the other independently. You may think that you're raising your calcium level, until the total alkalinity goes to high and then your calcium will prcipitate out of solution, and you'll have to start all over again. Use with caution, and test, test, test!

Ah yes, now I remember. It tries to do too much - raising the alk with the calcium. This would be great except that it doesn't do it in a balanced way. And I did end up with a calcium precipitation event.

I've used it exclusely for over 5 years and am very happy with it. However, I don't keep SPS...only an orange cap.
