    Question Kalkwasser (Calcium Hydroxide)

ok, well being the kind of guy that I am, if there is a product out there that can help improve my water quality and not too complicated to use, then i am a buyer. so in addition to the B-Ionic i would like to dose some KW to my tank as well (from what i understand it has the added benefit of precipitating out the phosphates in the water). If anybody knows of other benefits to KW (to help rationalize why i am adding this) please let me know.
For those of you that are using it, how are you dosing it? until now i always dosed everything by measuring cups. i dont have any dosing equipment (yet) and wanted to know what you suggest. the directions say to add 2 teaspoons (which i assume to me 10mL) to 1 gallon of freshwater and then drip it in (of course only the top clear part - what happens if you use the bottom too by mistake?) based on my tank, how much and how often should i add this?
anyone insights, inputs, and thoughts regarding this topic would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way, by far, is the use of a Nilsen Kalk reactor. This is what I use.
Check out my DIY thread here:

As you must already know, kalk also maintains pH and calcium levels. It's the "all in one" product..

That thread also has a link to the why's and how's of kalk dosing...

    god bless you.
i'll take a look at it.
but i'm not that much of a DIYer, is there a commercial product available? (or maybe i can somehow use my old SeaClone100 somehow for it as soon as i get my Remora Pro.)

I purchased my kalk reactor locally, I did not have the resources to build my own at the time.
