Here is my new baby clam which I bought at MASO 11. Thanks again unleashed!

Since Ive introduced the clam its been doing nicely, it fully opened and looks very healthy. I bought some Reef Crew live phyto and thats what im feeding it.

I got one too. I noticed you have a 175 W MH over a 20g (!!). I suggest that you keep it near the top of the tank otherwise it may become brown with time. Unfortunatly, they tend to move sometimes.

I have a 20G L which is only 12" deep...She glows and shines pretty good under the halide, you see the specs of gold on its mantle shining with the light(not really obvious in picture, colors are off too) From what I read I thought it would be fine with a 175W at that dept...?

Yeah it did move a bit at first..facing away from glass then back facing glass then burrowed itself a little more in my substrate.

I agree with Deafboy. Problem is, they DO move around, and I know these ones like to travel quite a bit. There were eight in the same tank at one point, and they used to move around like crazy at night..I would separate them, but every morning I would find them all piled up together...I nicknamed it The Clam Orgy

So, if you DO decide to gradually move her closer to the light, first give her a bit of time to become attached firmly to a piece of rock by her byssal threads, then move the whole shebang up gradually. I am afraid that if you just place her on a high rock, she will move around and fall. Clams have NO fear of heights, apparently

Wetwebmedia.com is a great place to read up about clams in general:

I will need more reports, of course :biggrinbo

Alright, thanks for the feedback everyone! Yeah it did move but it seems to move in as it was on a pivot, center staying in sand and clam moving around center but I will move it up once it attaches firmly to the piece of rock.
