    Can YOU id this one?

    OK I cannot figure this one out! What is this stuff?!?!? its exactly the color of the pic, it actually looks a bit like the tip of a q-tip, fuzzy at the end a bit. Its growing really good inches from 50/50 65w PC light....



    K sorry but for some reason I cannot figure out how to post the pic I did the [ IMG] without the space and I cant get it to work...oh well

    It's macro algea. I've seen algea like this many times on new or newish live rock, but it always seems to dissappear over time. Maybe the tangs like it.

    It did just grow on the LR and the LR is over 5 years old!...lol It didnt do too well under 400 w MH but seems to really like the PC lights.

    I have these pop up in my tank on and off over time. Pretty cool. I currently have about 7 of them in my tank.

    That is a calcerous algae called is Neomeris.
    AKA Fuzzy Tip Algae.

    They come and go in a tank. Nothing to worry about.

    Well, I haven't been on much lately and we all know Tangguy sleeps at his computer, so...
    Yup Neomersis, usually grows in a new setup and then dissapears. They will not get big.
    WHich tank is it growing on? The reef or the Lion tank?
