    hood reflector?

I have read lots of ideas out there for products used to make a DIY reflector for a lighting system. Metals, Paints etc. Has anyone heard of anyone using reflective mufler tape? Very sticky, very reflective. Any ideas if it would be safe to use in this hobby?

Take a square of aluminum, about 10$ and polish it with some polish then bend it, thats all it takes, you can polish it to a mirror shine

I have used a roll of aluminum tape to line the inside of a temp hood over a 30 gal still have the same hood 1 yr later with no problems to speak of.
it will get you high marks for the getto tank look not reall nice to look at.
You might find the aluminum at Home depot in the roofing isle used as flashing one side will be painted the other raw aluminum.
Use Progressively finer grades of sand paper starting with 320 and ending with 1200 grit sand in the same direction untill you see your reflection use water or metal polishing compound for the last step with the 1200 grit lots of elbow grease will get you there
