    pink dots

As I came back from a two days holliday yesterday i've notice some pink dots all over the glass tank.

I think it might be calcium, but I'm I right?

Is it a normal process, or should I do something about it?

As I'm leaving for NL tonigth I would like to be sure that everything will be okay when I'll be back....

    Thanks

It's probably coraline algae. It's good to have but if you leave it it might be a bit hard to remove. You can scrape it off with an old credit card or with a razor blade if you're tank is glass. Be carefull not to scratch the glass though

I agree with StephG...sounds like coraline algae.
Get used to it though....it generally grows quite fast (depending on your lighting I guess).
For me, since my tank is in-the-wall, I only scrap the front glass, not much point scrapping the sides or back.

So it won't be a problem if I leave it like that for the week.

I'll try to scrape the most on the front glass.

Is there a critter that can take care of it?

I think some urchins eat coraline algae but they won't climb the glass. I think the only way to take care of it is to scrape it off manually.
