Well if you have 200 million to spend on a aqurium. you could get a 3 million gallon tank.

I was curious that means it costs $66.66 per gallon.
Which is just about the same ratio it costs our tanks stocked (or at least mine)
How about any one else, does this sound right?

Hell, If I was a billionaire I would probably create my own man made sea... and populate it with the greatest reef life ever!

Now just imagine loosing control in a tank like that. Disaster struck us all at least once. Imagine how much work they will have trying to re-balance it.
If your gonna do it, do it right the first time.

At that volume I would imagine that their would havve to have a VERY BIG fudge up to bring the water unstable...but hey you never know...

I wish Ottawa had gone ahead with an aquarium on the Lebreton flats. It would not have been this big but still would have been a great attraction for our area.

LFS's and public aquariums are high on my list wherever I travel and have some time to kill. A public aquarium in Ottawa would certainly have got my vote!

BTW The only public aquarium where I have felt disappointed was the national aquarium in Washington DC. Most LFS's are more exciting. However, I understand that the one in Baltimore is worth the visit. Will try to get to that one next trip south.

I really enjoyed taking a group of Kanata high school band students through the marine museum in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia this past Spring. They weren't so sure that they would like it but I had a tough time getting them away from the live displays one they got inside. The blue shelled lobster was a show stopper for some. As usual Nova Scotians were very friendly and accomodating.
When not looking after fish, I am attached to my camera.

We used to have a nice one in Montreal, until the city workers and dolphin handlers went on strike and it was too late to save the dolphins that didn't fare well during the strike. I was just a kid at the time and it upset me very much.
